TDC Dance Company
True Dance and Company (TDC) under the direction of Shari True, is home to a long-standing, award-winning competition team recognized regionally and across
the nation. It is the pulse of the studio and is composed of our most dedicated, diligent, and dynamic male and female dancers, ranging in age from 5-18 years
old. Placement on this prestigious team is audition only and based on age,
current class level, exceptional ability, and the desire for excellence.
The studio offers phenomenal training opportunities beginning with an annual, amazing two-week summer intensive. Guest artists travel in from all across the country to provide quality instruction and choreography. Dancers then continue to learn choreography from leaders in the field throughout the summer and fall
months. Our Competition team is well rounded and pieces set encompass
multiple genres for groups, trios, duos, and solos. Company dancers are technically trained in ballet, ballroom, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, and tap. The team spends extra hours preparing to compete throughout the months of January to May in cities such as Kansas City, Denver, Chicago, Des Moines, and Minneapolis. Competition is enhanced in these cities with classes taught by industry giants that reinforce their technical training, and push dancers to a new level. The culmination of the season is usually capped off with a destination Nationals event.
TDC members consistently achieve awards, individually and as a group, for technique, showmanship, and talent.
Many TDC dancers go on to continue their passion for dance by pursuing collegiate dance programs, competitive college dance teams, and professionally in the Industry (such as dancing on Cruise Ships, in Cirque De Soleil, and on and off Broadway).
The continued excellence of this committed Company is commendable by the hard work and support shown to each other and devoted teachers, inside and outside of the studio. The team has multiple events throughout the year to promote building relationships and lasting memories. TDC members demonstrate success well beyond our Nebraska borders as talented dancers, accomplished students, and wonderful young individuals.
